Inversion practices and tomfoolery :)

A little late I offer you this helping of munchkin tomfoolery, inversion secrets, n a tasty tidbit of a recipe 🙂

The kids stay is over and the quiet house finds me editing away on this little gem 🙂

Hope you enjoy Much!!

Ive decided to add a little bit of written content to my video blogs, just in case you don’t have the time to watch it you can still grab some useful information 🙂

Todays blog is on fun play time with my niece Alijah n nephew Keinan. We got in some fun exercises in the form of wrestling, acrobatics and gymnastics! Alijah showed off her dog training skills, while Keinan his amazingly elastic flexibility with a variety of splits and jumps.

Ive been fortunate to have the use of a inversion table (thanks Elvis 🙂 ) and in this video we go over some of the benefits while we all take a turn and get a little silly 🙂 Inversion therapy has been used since at least 400 B.C to relive back pain. The father of “modern medicine” Hippocrates himself was a advocate of its use. Inversion increases blood flow to the brain, provides gentle traction to the spine, relaxes the muscles along the spine, reverses gravity (not literally silly 🙂 ) decompressing and enlarging the spaces between the vertebra, in turn increasing blood flow. Many people (including myself) have found that by using Inversion tables in conjunction with strengthening/stabilizing exercises can greatly help and even eliminate minor and major back pain, scoliosis, lordosis, alignment issues and help correct posture. Some advocates even say up to 90% + plus back surgeries (backed by studies) have been and can be deemed unnecessary with the help of inversion therapy and exercise!

From the inversion table we jump to more play time, exercise and group hand stands! Hand stands are fun for everyone, they can expand spacial awareness, balance, and help increase concentration and mental clarity. Strength is quickly gained by the practice of adding handstands into your fitness routine, try doing handstand pushups, they are a ultra effective upper body exercise. All inversion practices provide a much needed rest for the internal organs, improve circulation, facilitates respiratory function, and cellular elimination. Standing on the hands we reverse gravity finding the benefits of weight bearing postures effectively strengthening the bones and muscles in the wrists, fingers, elbows, arms, shoulders and neck. All weight bearing exercises help with bone density which can help prevent osteoporosis.

Last but not least we briefly look at the “King of all Asana’s” the headstand. Said to “reverse death” headstands as do all inverted poses provide a wide range of healthy benefits. This practice increases circulation to the brain, which causes improved brain function (intelligence and memory) and increased vitality and confidence. It can improve many ailments, such as nervousness, tension, fatigue, sleeplessness, dullness, fear, poor blood circulation, bad memory, asthma, headaches, constipation, congested throat, liver or spleen, for female disorders, the initial stages of eye and nose troubles, and general lack of energy, vitality or self confidence. Stimulating to four of the most important endocrine glands – the pituitary (called the master gland), the pineal, the thyroid, and the parathyroid glands that are responsible for our very existence, headstands help keep the body mechanism in good working order. As a consequence, the practice of the headstand helps us to get relief from many of our troubles, physical as well as mental, or to prevent them. It has a very beneficial effect on the whole body and is said to help align the chakra system. Reversing the pull of gravity while relaxed in the breath helps to put the spine into correct alignment, as well as restore the position of vital organs. I love headstands and include them as well as shoulder stands(the queen of Asana’s) and hand stands in my regular yoga practice.

to end er off we hit my first ipod nano filmed recipe, a variation of my sweet celery slaw, you can find my recipe book “101 Frickin’ Rawsome Recipes” up by donation.

I hope this is most insightful and encourages you to try out some of these fun ways to get inverted and increase your fitness and health!!!

I wish i had a clip of a invert on my skateboard, but to the future!!!

Enjoy Much

As Always

Wishing You Much

  1. Chris,

I was very disappointed to find the Larry King video that captions for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Viewers were removed on Bill Maher eating habits – Raw Food diet. What did Maher he say? Would you kindly please put the list of ingredients that you were preparing at the last part of your vlogs on the screen for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Viewers?

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Carol
