RAW FOOD RECIPES BY MASTER CHEF CHRIS KENDALL

hahah hadta post that! 🙂 Weeee!!

This really was a trip at the first Woodstock. It was my first time cheffing for hundreds of people, and let me tell you, we were flying by the seat of our pants. There was no menu, I wasn’t part of the food order process, we didn’t have more than one small refrigerator, and yet somehow we managed to pull it off. The chaos, the improvisation, the pure adrenaline of making it work with whatever we had, it was absolutely wild.

Oh, did I mention it was also my first time speaking in front of hundreds of people as one of the main speakers? Yeah, that happened too. And teaching yoga classes in a festival setting with everyone watching? First time for that as well. Looking back, I honestly don’t know how I survived that week, but I’m so grateful I did.

The whole experience pushed me way outside my comfort zone in every possible direction. I was cheffing, teaching, speaking, connecting with people from all over the world, all while trying to stay grounded and present. Some moments I felt completely in the flow, other times I felt like I was barely keeping my head above water. But that’s growth, right? That uncomfortable space where you’re stretching beyond what you thought you could do.

Endless thanks to Michael and Yuliya at the Woodstock Fruit Festival for their faith in me and for giving me this incredible chance. They saw something in me before I fully saw it in myself, and that kind of belief from others can be absolutely transformative. They trusted me with a huge responsibility, and I’m forever grateful they did.

I can honestly say that first Woodstock, and every one since, has been a HUGE part of my growth, both personally and professionally. It shaped how I approach teaching, how I handle pressure, how I connect with community, and how I show up authentically even when I’m nervous or uncertain. For The Raw Advantage and me as a compassion-driven business, that experience taught me so much about service, resilience, creativity under pressure, and the power of just saying yes to opportunities that terrify you.

That first festival planted seeds that have grown into so much of what I do today. The retreats, the meal plans, the videos, the community we’ve built, so much of it traces back to that wild, chaotic, beautiful first Woodstock experience where I learned what I was truly capable of when pushed to my edge.
