Cultivating Harmony: Presence, Passion, and Personal Growth; with Chris Kendall
I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with my friend Tim Dörfler for his “Everyday Ceremony” podcast to talk about Cultivating Harmony in one’s life, and I wanted to share some highlights with you all in the post below, watch the video for the whole scoop!
It was truly a pleasure to engage in such a meaningful conversation with Tim. As kindred spirits in self-growth and loving service, we delved into topics close to my heart—the raw vegan lifestyle, personal growth, and the art of cultivating harmony in our health journeys. During our chat, I opened up about my transformative journey from skateboarding enthusiast to becoming a passionate raw food advocate. This path has been quite a ride, and I shared how staying true to my passions has guided me through life’s inevitable ups and downs.
Throughout our discussion, we uncovered several significant themes related to well-rounded, holistic health. One of the most crucial aspects we explored was the importance of self-love and authenticity in our health journeys. I expressed my firm belief that true health begins with accepting ourselves as we are while simultaneously striving for positive change. By cultivating harmony between self-acceptance and personal growth, we create a nurturing environment for lasting change.
We also discussed the delicate balance between rest and staying active, which is essential for cultivating harmony in our daily lives. In our fast-paced world, it’s easy to fall into the trap of constant productivity, but I stressed the vital role that adequate rest plays in our overall well-being. At the same time, we talked about the benefits of staying active—not just through structured exercise but by incorporating movement into our daily routines in ways that bring us joy. Whether it’s through skateboarding, yoga, or simply taking a walk in nature, finding activities that resonate with us personally can make a significant difference in our health and happiness.
Another theme we explored was the importance of tuning into our body’s intuition. I shared my experiences of learning to listen to my body’s signals, especially regarding nutrition and energy levels. This intuitive approach to health allows us to make choices that truly cater to our individual needs, rather than blindly following one-size-fits-all advice. By cultivating harmony between our mind and body, we can develop a deeper understanding of what truly serves us on our health journey.
We touched on the power of embracing the present moment and the joy it can bring. I discussed how practicing mindfulness, particularly while preparing and enjoying raw foods, can enhance our overall life experience. By fully engaging with the present, we can find joy in simple activities and cultivate a deeper appreciation for our health journey. This mindfulness practice is key to cultivating harmony between our inner world and our external experiences.
Our conversation also ventured into the realm of personal growth and how it intertwines with our health choices. I shared insights on how embracing challenges and viewing them as opportunities for growth can positively impact our overall well-being. We discussed the importance of setting intentions and aligning our actions with our values, creating a sense of purpose that extends beyond just physical health.
Throughout the discussion, we emphasized the interconnectedness of various aspects of health—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. We explored how nurturing each of these areas contributes to a more balanced and fulfilling life.
