In my childhood years and early teens, I used to love starting my day with a bowl of sugary cereals like Fruit Loops—the bright colors and sweet crunch were a major part of my morning routine before school. But as I got more into healthy eating, I realized sugary, processed cereals like Fruit Loops, Reece’s Peanut Butter Puffs, and Captain Crunch weren’t doing me any favors. They’re packed with artificial colors, flavors, and high levels of sugar; these cereals offered little nutritional value and often left me feeling revved up and quickly thereafter sluggish and unsatisfied. That’s why I’m super excited to share my real Fruit Loops cereal recipe with you! It’s got all the fun and flavor but is made with fresh, natural ingredients that are actually good for you. It’s an easy and delicious way to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner with that nostalgic cereal vibe and feel great about what you’re eating.
Real Fruit Loops Cereal Recipe
Ingredients:
4 Bananas (1lb / 460 g)
Freeze Dried Fruit Mix (1 cup / 30 g)
Water (1 cup / 250 ml)
Directions:
Slice one banana and mix it in a bowl with the freeze-dried fruit.
Peel and blend the remaining bananas with water to the desired “banana milk” consistency; this is what makes it a “Cereal.”
Pour the banana milk into the bowl, mix well, and serve.
*This is delicious with any mix of freeze-dried fruit; I LOVE using freeze-dried durian cubes.
